Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today announced an expansion of its 2018 Summer schedule from George Best Belfast City Airport with a brand new route to Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Seats are available for booking now at www.flybe.com.

Travellers planning a trip to Doncaster can do so from 15th June until 26th October, with flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Flybe Interim Chief Commercial Officer Ronnie Matheson said “We are pleased to announce an expansion to our 2018 Summer schedule from Belfast City. The brand new route to Doncaster offers a flexible schedule ideal for those who want to make a short business trip or a longer break to really see what Doncaster has to offer.”

“Just 5km from Doncaster and less than 30km from East Sheffield this new destination offers a convenient gateway into Yorkshire.”

Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, said:

“At Belfast City Airport we are always keen to further expand our growing route network and we’re delighted that our passengers can avail of direct access to Doncaster, Sheffield, and the surrounding South Yorkshire area.

“Our close proximity to Belfast city centre saw Belfast City Airport named ‘the Most Convenient Airport in the UK and Ireland’ in a study by The Telegraph, and our comprehensive domestic route network operated by Flybe ensures our passengers can easily connect to destinations right across the UK from Inverness to Newquay.”

Chris Harcombe, Aviation Development Director at DSA, comments:

“We are thrilled to introduce more routes to DSA’s repertoire. This new route to Belfast offers more choice for our customers, a fantastic destination to explore and for doing business. We know this route to Belfast is one that our customers have been keen to see and so are delighted to be able to make it a reality working closely with Flybe and Belfast City Airport.”
