The January issue of Aircraft Cabin Management is now online

In our winter issue, we take a close look at recent capacity enhancements that Airbus has been making across its entire range of aircraft models – from the A320neo Family to the recently introduced A330neo. TAP Air Portugal was the launch customer for the A330neo and its Aircraft cabin concept, which is now being extended to the A320neo Family.

Meanwhile, in August of last year LATAM Airlines Group announced a $400 million investment to transform the cabins of more than 200 aircraft. With the first new-look aircraft arriving for LATAM Airlines Peru and LATAM Airlines Brazil in early 2019, we review the new interiors and the process behind their design.

Also in this issue, we have a special focus on carpets and flooring, with features on Mohawk Group, a pioneer for the use of nylon carpets within the airline industry, and Lonseal Flooring, who specialise in vinyl flooring, a viable alternative to carpeting that is becoming increasingly popular.

Other articles in the January issue include:

Crash course
Cabin safety training is important, aimed at preparing staff for situations from dealing with difficult passengers to suspected infectious diseases.

No strings attached
We talk to Collins Aerospace's Alexis Hickox and Boeing's Bryan Wiltse about the latest in cabin wifi and connectivity thinking.

Kind of blue
What are the challenges of designing a cabin with a very short time to install the new concept before the first scheduled flight? We take a look at the process behind the launch of French low cost airline Joon.

Delivering material benefits
When furnishing an aircraft, operators are principally concerned with the twin elements of passenger comfort and material weight. Leading textile manufacturers Expliseat, Geven and Mirus explain their approach.
